AREAS OF EXPERTISE IN COLLEGE

I am dedicated to promoting harmony between humans and their built and natural environments through culturally sensitive technology, policy analysis, and education. As an Environmental Systems Engineering major, I studied engineering fundamentals and environmentally sustainable design principles with a focus on energy systems and urban infrastructure. I also completed coursework and research in the social sciences including in education and international relations. I worked as a Schneider Sustainable Energy Fellow at the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Climate and Clean Energy team in New York City. I also held fellowships at the Tomkat Center for Sustainable Energy at Stanford and at Green Empowerment in Nicaragua where I worked with underserved communities to expand access to renewable energy solutions. I am currently a master’s student at Stanford University where I am studying Civil and Environmental Engineering. In my free time, I love walking, traveling, animals of all kinds, music, writing, and trying new fruits and vegetables.

UNIQUE HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCES

Service is an integral part of my life. Through my volunteer work, I got to travel to India and Tanzania and raise funds to sponsor school fees and provide books to hundreds of schoolchildren. My essay about animal welfare was selected in an international writing contest. In my own community, I got to work on projects that improved environmental sustainability, health, and social connection.
