AREAS OF EXPERTISE IN COLLEGE
In college, I studied Political Science, focusing on International and Comparative Politics while taking many Economics and Chinese classes. I also minored in Film and Media Studies, where I concentrated in Filmmaking and Journalism. After college, I moved to Beijing to work as a college counselor, a Topical Discussion Professor at the China Foreign Affairs University, and conducted research at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center. After obtaining my masters from Harvard Kennedy School, I’ve worked in elite think tanks dedicated to studying Chinese and Latin American politics. My goal is to be a researcher, educator, and public servant.
UNIQUE HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCES
I grew up moving around to different countries, and for high school I went to a French International School in Mexico City, Mexico. Few of my classmates went to study in the United States (most went to France or stayed in Mexico). After majoring in Sciences with a Mathematics Specialization, I wanted to change education systems and return to the U.S. I was particularly interested in going to a Liberal Arts College, where I could pick my own classes and explore my many different interests, ranging from Mathematics to Social Sciences to Art. Additionally, as somebody with many leadership positions in the student body, I wanted to go to a small and civically-minded school where I could be actively involved in a variety of activities and dedicate myself to the community.
