AREAS OF EXPERTISE IN COLLEGE
At Brown, I double-majored in Public Health and Visual Arts. With no core curriculum, I was free to explore my interests. Over my four years at Brown, I studied everything from fairytales to foreign languages. I pursued a variety of both freelance and paid design work and ended up spending a lot of my summers working in companies concerned with education.
I currently am in Tokyo, Japan as a Teaching Fellow at a local kindergarten. I plan to enter graduate school in the near future.
UNIQUE HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCES
Once upon a time, long before the tumult and turmoil of junior year, people knew me on the internet. I drew, and for the first time, I was noticed. It constituted a period of intense growth in my life, a time of expansion. The world became more than the people who walked the same streets as me. It was populated instead by hundreds and thousands of like-minded people who bled art the same way I did; for once, it was not "why" but "how."
There are still pieces of me floating on the internet, but I won't tell you how to find them.

WHAT COLLEGES SEEK
Colleges look for unique, creative, and dynamic individuals; the stories you tell are just as important as your school ranking or SAT score. I strove to present myself as Kelly, the person, rather than Kelly, the application.

COLLEGE ACCESS CONSULTING EXPERIENCE
I have worked as a mentor for 2 years during my college career, teaching critical thinking and effective writing skills to students hoping to apply to U.S. universities. I worked as a direct mentor for 20 students during the summer of 2015, and 6 students during the 2015-2016 academic school year. During the summer of 2017, I spent one month working in four different high schools throughout Japan, encouraging effective communication skills, instilling confidence, and helping to outline future goals.
Kelly knows a good story, and can help you tell yours.
