AREAS OF EXPERTISE IN COLLEGE

Throughout undergrad and my Ph.D. work I studied political theory with a focus on modern identity politics and “intersectionality.” My thesis work focused on crisis management and how identity studies can inspire better disaster management practices, i.e. under hurricanes.

After my time at Yale I spent 7 years working for a financial research company (GLG) where I developed the firm’s entire job training, onboarding and diversity and inclusion strategy.

Most recently I was named the 2018 “America’s Greatest Thinker” by winning the Great American Think-Off, a public debate competition.

UNIQUE HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCES

Debate was my primary focus and I treated it like a varsity sport. I enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and competing nationally -- I placed in the top 20 in speaking and performance at the National Tournament of Champions and qualified to NSDA Nationals (1st in state) in both Lincoln-Douglas debate and Senate Student Congress.

I also won or placed in quite a few essay contests at both a local and national level and was featured in my hometown’s newspaper my senior year for one of them.

WHAT COLLEGES SEEK

Selective schools want applicants who will help them form the most diverse, interesting and impactful class. I help students focus on identifying what they WANT to do and market those efforts in a way which top colleges find appealing.
